What should you know?

It is located in the Plaza de San Francisco, under the atrium of the church (Cuenca and Sucre), in Quito Historic Center.
Its opening hours are from Sunday to Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Working since 1995 on the historic Plaza de San Francisco in Quito city, the Cultural Center is made up of:

  • A craft shop museum with seven exhibition and sales rooms.
  • A Restaurant Bar that offers the culinary traditions of the mountains, coast and Amazon, in an environment that allows you to enjoy the monumental view of the Plaza and the Domes of the Church of the Company of Jesus.

The Cultural Center is a project of the Sinchi Sacha Foundation, recognized for its work in generating income for the low-income population, through the commercialization of handicrafts with identity, the valuation of natural and cultural heritage, and support for the capacities of small craft producers in the country.

The Sinchi – Sacha Foundation

  • It is a non-governmental institution that contributes strategically to the sustainable development of Ecuador.
  • Sinchi Sacha means Selva Poderosa (Powerful Jungle) in Quichua. It is recognized for its high degree of expertise in promotion of responsible tourism, fair trade, participatory planning, natural and historical heritage restoration and generation of income for the low-income population.

  • It offers a wide range of handicrafts from all over Ecuador. They support the artisanal production of rural and city communities, we promote cultural revitalization and the rehabilitation of Ecuador’s Historical Heritage.
  • It recognizes the work of small producers, artisans and artists, leading a Fair Trade based on dialogue, transparency and respect.
  • Members certified by the WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) World Fair Trade Organization, formerly IFAT (International Federation of Alternative Trade) for its adherence to the social, business and ecological standards of fair trade.
