Macará is in the list of magical towns, located in the south of Ecuador. It has impressive tourist places with and overwhelming natural landscape.

These are the most important tourist places in Macará.

  • Jorupe Biological Reserve: It has abundant species of flora and fauna. The reserve is managed by The Jocotoco Foundation, located 5 km away from the City of Macará, its mission is to motivate the national citizen and  the foreign bird and conservation lover. The Urraca Lodge is located in the Tumbesian dry forest. The reserve has facilities of helpful access for educational and tourist purposes. It has 7 cabins, each cabin has the basic services such as private bathroom, among others. Next to these cabins is designed the main cabin that is multipurpose for meetings, conferences and also offers the service of restaurant for those who stay in this sector as teams of research, tourist groups, and visitors in general.
  • Laipun Ecological ReserveLocated on the left bank of the Catamayo River in the Canguraca neighborhood, this It has an area of 1,600 hectares of dry forest.
  • Lagoon of LoveIt is located in the neighborhood of La Mandalá on the Pan-American Highway 6 Km away from the city of Macará, this sector is characterized by presenting small waterfalls and natural lagoons, bathed by fresh and crystalline water that gives those who like to enjoy nature a unique experience.
  • Blue BackgroundsFor those who wish to visit this waterfall attraction, they are located on the Zapotillo canton, in the Laguar neighborhood, of the Parish and Macará canton, 12 km away from the city, in the southern part of the city, which enjoys a warm climate and natural landscape; to get to the waterfalls, you have to travel a third-order route the same one that enters the visitor or tourist until you reach the place where you can enjoy a refreshing swim and above all the exquisiteness and tranquility of the nature that surrounds with extraordinary waterfalls turning them into a natural spa ready for receiving tourists.
